Polymer Testing focuses on the testing, analysis and characterization of polymer materials, including both synthetic and natural or biobased polymers. Novel testing methods and the testing of novel polymeric materials in bulk, solution and dispersion is covered. In addition, we welcome the submission of the testing of polymeric materials for a wide range of applications and industrial products. In organopolysilazanes, at least one organic substituent is bound to the silicon atom. The amount and type of organic substituents have a predominant influence on the macro-molecular structure of polysilazanes. Silazane copolymers are normally produced from ammonolyses of chlorosilane mixtures. In this chemical reaction, different chlorosilanes. The interaction of water with many biopolymers is known to rearrange their internal structure, make them moisture sensitive, and influence their physical properties. We study amorphous cellulose and hemicellulose, two hydrophilic biopolymers, using molecular dynamics simulations, and we analyze their structural and physical properties over the Cited by: Please note: If you switch to a different device, you may be asked to login again with only your ACS ID. Conjugated polymers such as poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) are commonly used as semiconducting components in organic photovoltaics (OPVs) and organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs). Such devices may be exposed to oxygen or moisture in air and increased temperature during operation, potentially affecting their Journal of Materials Chemistry C Emerging InvestigatorsCited by: 5.

This article presents an analysis of the influence of moisture on the mechanical properties Influence of moisture on the tracking performance of various organic polymers book polyvinyl-acetate. The analysis of shear compliance functions, obtained at several different moisture contents, indicates that the effect of moisture could be explained by the time-humidity superposition principle.

The effects of moisture content and time on mechanical behavior of polymer materials are investigated both theoretically and experimentally in this paper.

An equivalence relationship between time intervals and the moisture content for polymer nylon-6 has been established by way of experimental observation and measured results.

The relationship shows that there exists equivalence between Cited by: 3. Influence of Moisture-Uptake on Mechanical Properties of Polymers Used in Microelectronics. Polymers are currently considered as a possible alternative to silicon dioxide in the fabrication of interlevel dielectrics.

Moisture in plastic material before its processing can have negative influence on physical or thermal properties of a product and can devalue visual aspect of the end product, thus these plastics. Two copolymers were investigated for long-term influence of environmental factors.

The polymers were exposed in the. open air, in a special containers kept in the open air and in damp cellar. Microbiological evaluation of the exposed. materials showed that these copolymers were contaminated by micromycetes. Carboxylate substitution is a common approach to tune the energy level of donor polymers for organic solar cells.

However, the influence of carboxylate substitution on the morphological and electronic properties of donor polymers is not well cincinnatiblackhistory.com by: 3. In Performance of Bio-based Building Materials, Abstract.

Bio-based materials, like all materials, are likely to experience a range of environments and challenges that can affect the performance of the material, such as the effects of weathering and cincinnatiblackhistory.com addition, as bio-based materials are organic in their nature, this means that they are likely to be susceptible to attack by.

Improved biodegradable plastics performance has also had a positive influence on global demand. The potential of compostable polymer materials depends on a further reduction in price, development of the cost of fossil resources, process optimization and scaling up supported by full life cycle assessment analysis.

With other resins like PET, PBT, PC, nylon, and TPU exposure to moisture at processing temperature causes a chemical reaction (hydrolysis), which breaks long chains into shorter fragments, reducing strength and other properties.

The moisture absorption in some molding compounds can be characterized by linearly decreasing diffusivity as a function of average moisture content [4], while for highly non-Fickian diffusion of some organic substrates a power- law relation between the diffusivity and Cited by: Conjugated polymers have attracted broad academic and industrial interest for various optoelectronic applications.

Conjugated polymers possess obvious advantages toward inorganic materials and small-molecule organic materials, such as light weight, low cost, and flexibility.

Furthermore, most polymer materials are soluble in common solvents thus polymer films can be prepared through solution. The coating methods are normally categorized as organic, inorganic, and metallurgical coatings.

In more detail, the photo-grafting polymerization, the initiated chemical vapor deposition, and the UV-curable coatings are utilized for organic coatings on polymers.

Organic electronics utilize carbon-based small molecules and polymers as the active electronic layers. Different materials can be adopted as semiconductors, dielectrics (insulators), or even injecting electrodes (conductors) [12–14].

Organic semiconductors combine functional tunability with the low cost per unit area offered by their production in large volumes, using solution-based approaches, but unfortunately organic devices suffer from insufficient performance.

The study on the photocatalytic performance and mechanism demonstrated that the specific surface areas and the backbone structures of the polymers had a great influence on the photocatalytic performances. A higher specific surface area and an increased adsorption efficiency for pollutants contributed to the enhanced photocatalytic activity.

The sludge resulting from this process represents the next challenge for the water treatment industry, in particular the minimizing of its volume. This Sludge Dewatering handbook will present the key parameters to take into account in order to optimi-ze sludge treatment with SNF Floerger’s organic polymers.

The bonds between water molecules and these constituents are often significantly different from normal water-water bonds and so this type of water has different physicochemical properties than bulk water e.g., melting point, boiling point, density, compressibility, heat of.
